
Myrto Tasioula
Dancing teacher, dancer, choreographer
Myrto Tasioula was born in Ioannina.
She is a graduate of the Department of Preschool Education (University of Ioannina) and the Higher Vocational Private School of Dance of Rallos Manos (graduation with distinction in 2015).
At a young age, she started dancing at the dance school of Aristea Litou, who served as a role model and source of inspiration for her later career in dance, while she also took piano and music theory lessons at the Panepirotic Conservatory ‘Tsakalof’.
Her first collaboration with the School of Dance of Rallos Manos occurred in 2015, when she taught ballet and modern dance in the amateur department until 2018.
At the same time, she was working as a dance teacher and choreographer in the competitive departments of the rhythmic gymnastics sports club ‘Olympiakos Rythmos’ in Argyroupoli, Athens.
In 2016 she participated as a dancer in the musical-theatre performance ‘The Most Beautiful Tango’, directed and choreographed by Sofia Spyratou, as well as in the performances of the ‘Rallos Manos’ Dance School, while she also attended dance classes at the ‘London Studio Centre’ in London.
In 2017 she taught dance to the junior ensemble of the Athletic and Cultural Association ‘Olympiakos Rythmos’ in Argyroupoli, in the framework of the team’s preparation for the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championship in Budapest.
She danced with the group ‘On Move’ on the 2nd Contemporary Dance Platform, where they presented the work ‘Fall’. In addition, she took dance classes at ‘The Place’ Contemporary Dance School in London.
In 2018, she worked as an instructor to the Women’s National Rhythmic Gymnastics Ensemble Team during its preparation for the 36th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria and participated for the second time in the 3rd Contemporary Dance Platform with the team ‘On Move’, where they presented the work ‘Peak’ (Korifi).
In September 2018 she went to Madrid, Spain, where she trained in contemporary dance under the ‘Laboratorio 180º’ programme at the ‘Danza 180º’ dance school.
She has collaborated with the following choreographers:
Carla Diego – ‘At the same time’, Victoria Miranda – ‘Burned Society’, Mario Gonzalez – ‘Club’, Javier Guerrero – ‘Itsasoan’ and Arnau Perez – ‘Just Kidding’.
Together with the dance team of ‘Laboratorio 180º’, they presented the choreography of Mario Gonzalez ‘Shades’ on the Spanish television dance program ‘Fama a bailar’ in May 2019.
She has attended seminars in ballet, contemporary dance, improvisation, flying low technique, gaga technique, floorwork, jazz, funky jazz, tango, latin, pilates and yoga.
As of October 2019, she has been teaching movement and contemporary dance to actors and organising the movement and choreography of performances in the theatre lab of Theatriki Sympaignia in Ioannina.
In 2021 she participated as a dancer, choreographer and actress in the musical-theatre performance ‘Cinderella’ directed by Yolanda Kaperda and produced by Theatriki Sympaignia.
In 2021 she participated as a dancer in the postgraduate research of choreographer Eleonora Ilia, presenting the work ‘The Discreet Charm of Abandonment’, as well as in the music and dance performance ‘Echographia: When Sound Turns Into Landscape’ in collaboration with musician and composer Dimitris Basdanis.
Since the summer of 2019, she started collaborating with the ‘Aristea Litou’ Professional Dance School in Ioannina as a classical and modern dance teacher and dancer.
