
Katerina Vasileiou
Katerina Vasileiou was born in Athens in 1983.
She was introduced to music at the age of six, when she started taking piano and theory lessons.
She graduated from the Experimental Music High School of Pallini, while she is a holder of diplomas in Advanced Theory of Harmony and Counterpoint and is a graduate of the Department of Folk and Traditional Music, specialising in folk and traditional singing.
She has taught music theory and traditional signing at the Hellenic Conservatory in Athens and the Musical Praxis Conservatory.
As a singer, she has participated in various folk, traditional, light pop and sophisticated popular music groups and schemes, as well as in melodic poetry events alongside pianist Giannis Belonis and Eri Ritsou.
Along with music, she also studied Theatre at the Higher Drama School of the Piraeus Association.
Since then, she participated in musical and children’s theatrical performances, while she also worked alongside director Pantelis Kanarakis as an actress and assistant director.
She now lives and works in Ioannina, where she teaches modern, folk and traditional singing, as well as Orthophony at the Ioannina School of Music, the ‘K. Leontari’ Music School and the Igoumenitsa Model Conservatory (Protypo Odeio Igoumenitsas).
At the same time, she directs performances and teaches acting, orthophony and theatrical singing in theatre workshops.
